Here are four products that you may not be aware of. Some are required by building codes and each can SAVE YOU MONEY by reducing callbacks and preventing failed inspections– all for a minimum investment:

#1: Sill Pan
An adjustable sill pan flashing proven to prevent damage caused by exterior door leaks. Injection molded of high impact polymers that will not deteriorate over time. Inexpensive and easy to install, the three-piece telescoping design allows the installer on-site adjustablility to fit all rough openings. Complete by bonding together with PVC cement. Not visible after installation. In stock for 2×4 wall or 2×6 wall. Recommended for any application where door is exposed to the elements. Costs about $25.00 per unit.

#2: Hinge Shims
Correct sagging or binding on a door by using the Quick Align Hinge Shim. Made from plastic that won’t compress under pressure and slotted so they can be inserted without removing the hinge completely. Each shim is tapered and can be inserted from either side of the hinge leaf. In stock for both 3-1/2″ and 4″ hinges. Costs about 30¢ per door unit.

#3: Door Guard Wrap Around
U-shaped wrap around plate is required by Johnson County codes and currently in draft proposal for Kansas City. Don’t risk a failed inspection because you don’t have them. The design protects the edge of the door and is often used simultaneously with security strikes. We stock in both Oil Rubbed Bronze finish and Satin Nickel. Costs about $7.00 per unit.
#4: Security Strike
The Jamb Brace™ is a heavy-duty aluminum insert that strengthens the weakest part of a door–it’s frame. Completely concealed within the door trim it is unseen. Currently required by many city codes. It also makes a great upsell on all your exterior door units offering your homeowners peace of mind. Can also be used in retro-fit applications. Costs about $30.00 for a single door unit.
