Standing Out and Blending In
How often to do see painted doors inside someone’s home? Not often. Sometimes a solid white or natural wood door does not flow with the design of your room. Instead of allowing it to interrupt because no one ever paints doors, make it stand out or blend in. In a good way that is. We found these pictures of well designed rooms with painted doors on Apartment Therapy. In the first picture the door is the focal point and stands out with the thick black and white stripes. In the second picture, the door seems to be an extension of the wall because it is painted the same color and even decorated with photos. What do you think about keeping the doors in your house consistent with the design pattern like these?
New Color of Front Doors
Yes, red front doors are the epitome of classic. And yes, wood doors are elegant. What about neon green, or pumpkin orange? Front doors are starting to become more eccentric, really showing personality. Interior designer Whitney Stewart told House Beautiful, “I would use pumpkin with olive trim. It’s a bold color that pushes the envelope for a front door. It says, ‘I dare you to walk through.’ But then it’s also very appealing. It’s the new paradigm for anyone who is tired of red doors. It’s more youthful.” What unconventional color would you paint your front door to show your personality?
