Often times when you clean your house you don’t even think about washing your windows. Somehow it gets overlooked by virtually everyone, which made us think about how often do people remember to clean the windows in their home. We recently featured a poll that asked, “When was the last time you washed your windows?” and the results are in. Although pushed to the back of most people’s minds, 67 percent of our readers said the last time they washed their windows was only a month ago. And only 33 percent said they didn’t know they should even be cleaning them. We would like to thank you for taking the time to vote and remind you to keep your eyes open for our next poll!

If you are thinking about decorating that plain window in your room start by relaxing. How can you decorate if you are relaxing? By adding a window seat of course. Window seats perform double duty through aesthetics and function. Not only will a window seat serve as decoration for your window and room, but as a place for you to relax. You can sit and gather your thoughts, engage in conversation, or do some leisurely reading. You can even use a window seat in your dining room as seating. You now have about 3 weeks until September 13th to enter your most innovative residential design. The awards are open to builders, interior designers, developers, architects, and land planners throughout the U.S. Winners from the various categories will be announced at the NAHB International Builders Show on January 12th.
